WallyGators Swim Team 2026
Welcome to the site of the WallyGators, Wallingford Swim and Racquet Club’s swim team! Our
team competes in the Suburban Swim League and is composed of three groups.
The Little Gators are our developmental swimmers. These swimmers, typically 9 years old or
younger, are new to competitive swimming and are still learning and perfecting the strokes.
They have practice 4 times a week and have 2-3 intrateam meets during the season.
The JV and Varsity WallyGators teams compete in weekly meets against the other league teams
in June and July. Swimmers have varying levels of swim experience.
In order to swim with our swim team, all new swimmers and those who were Little Gators last
year or are under 9 years old must undergo an evaluation. This is done to ensure everyone’s
safety in the pool.
The evaluation consists of swimming two full laps of the pool and then treading water for 1
minute.
- Swimmers who complete one of their two laps in 30 seconds or less and exhibit
competence in at least two strokes will be placed on the Wally Gator Swim Team - Swimmers who complete the evaluation, but cannot complete one lap in 30 seconds or
do not exhibit competence in two strokes will be placed on the Little Gators
Developmental Swim Team - Swimmers who are unable to complete the evaluation will not be placed on either team.
PLEASE NOTE: Passing the L Pool Test does NOT qualify a swimmer for Little Gators. All
swimmers must be independently evaluated by one of our coaches.
